Black Friday is nearly upon once again. It’s the time of year everyone is starting to think about Christmas and has become known for a time of heavy sales by shops.
We don’t go in for that. Our belief is some of these ‘discounts’ may not be quite what they seem, instead we opt to give 10% of all sales from Friday to Sunday to charity. It’s already something we believe in doing as year round 1% of our sales go towards environmental charities. While we are on quite the rollercoaster here in the UK with the political and economic climate it can be easy to forget there are some living in much more challening conditions.
This year our Black Friday fund will go the the Disasters Emergency Committee to support relief efforts in Ukraine and Pakistan.
Nobody needs reminding of what is happening in Ukraine and our contribution will help provide simple basic essentials such as food and shelter to the most vulnerable who have been displaced by the war. You can read more about the DEC and their work here.
The donation will be also be split with the Pakistan appeal. This year flooding has covered a third of the country, killing thousands and displacing millions. With 5 times as much rainfall as the average climate change has been identified as a major contributing factor. Small contributions can make a huge difference to the people affected and we hope that in a small way we will help to save lives and allow people to beign rebuilding. Making this contribution wouldn’t be possile without you our wonderful customers of course so we would like to thank you for making this possible.
